The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) "load e-wallet" feature on its mobile banking app will no longer be available for GCash and Maya effectively on Thursday, February 13, 2025. As announced today, they have clarified that you can still send/transfer funds/money through the "Transfer to other banks" feature via Instapay with a service charge amounting to PHP25 for GCash and Maya. Although both BPI and GCash are part of the Ayala Company Group, BPI has its own e-wallet app which they call the "VYBE". The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has restored access to its mobile app and online banking platform following a service disruption on July 15. BPI first reported the outage at 1:13 PM, when customers couldn’t really access its digital banking services. The incident follows another service disruption that affected BPI's digital channels in June. According to BPI, the service aims to expand access to digital financial tools, especially in areas with limited banking services. BPI is expanding its barcode-based cash deposit service through Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc.
