#BPI GCash service

The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) "load e-wallet" feature on its mobile banking app will no longer be available for GCash and Maya effectively on Thursday, February 13, 2025. As announced today, they have clarified that you can still send/transfer funds/money through the "Transfer to other banks" feature via Instapay with a service charge amounting to PHP25 for GCash and Maya. Although both BPI and GCash are part of the Ayala Company Group, BPI has its own e-wallet app which they call the "VYBE". According to BPI, the service aims to expand access to digital financial tools, especially in areas with limited banking services. BPI is expanding its barcode-based cash deposit service through Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc. The service allows customers to deposit cash by generating a barcode through the BPI app and presenting it at participating stores. The service also supports deposits to another BPI account. BPI said the rollout is part of its agency banking expansion, allowing customers to access banking services in retail stores.
