The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has ordered e-wallets to unlink their platforms to online gambling sites within 48 hours. BSP Deputy Governor Mamerto Tangonan has stated that they have issued an order for e-wallet platforms to remove links in-apps to allowing users to use e-gambling sites. Users of the e-wallets can still use the e-wallet platforms by going directly to the e-gambling website. Launched in July 2020, the BSP Online Buddy (BOB) is Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas' Consumer Protection bot, ready to help with people's financial consumer concerns and questions. With this, you may raise your concerns with BSP-Supervised Financial Institutions (BSFIs) and submit queries on other BSP-related topics. BOB is the BSP's chatbot that automates the handling of consumer complaints. It enables people to instantly send their concerns through a webchat on the BSP Website, Facebook (via Facebook Messenger), or SMS. However, BSP also mentioned that BOB would also be made available for other network subscribers in the future.
