Cashalo, in a Facebook post, confirmed a data breach in its system. Cashalo, an online lending platform, announced that their IT security team discovered a potential data security incident involving its database archive. The incident resulted in unauthorized access to a database that contained some personal data of Cashalo customers. A new data breach has reportedly exposed the personal information of 17.5 million Instagram users, raising fresh concerns about account security on Meta’s platforms. According to Malwarebytes, it found that the data breach occurred during its regular scan on the dark web, which it associated with a potential exposure of the Instagram API back in 2024. 16 billion passwords have been exposed in platforms like Apple, Google, Facebook, and more in a massive data breach. Lastly, the data from Cybernews’ reports are recent and not recycled from old breaches.
