Cherry Mobile recently announced that they are giving their select Flare smartphones a price cut starting tomorrow, April 4, until April 8, as part of their Cherryfic Sail of Sales promo. The battle for the best bang-for-the-buck device begins: In one corner, we have the newly-announced Cherry Mobile Flare X2 and the sub-Php10K Cloudfone Next in another. They also sport different glass protection -- Cherry Mobile's has a scratch-resistant Dragontail glass on both its front and back sides that may be prone to fingerprint smudges, while Cloudfone's flagship has a 2.5D glass in front with Corning's Gorilla Glass protection. Cherry Mobile left the UI intact and installed a few apps in tradition to what they have been serving, which includes the new Movie Club app alongside Cherry Play and Fun Club. With nearly identical hardware, one could see a difference in pricing: Cherry Mobile has placed the Flare X successor at Php7,999 and will be available soon, while Cloudfone's prized gem is available since Monday with a Php9,999 price tag.
