Canon has unveiled the PowerShot V1 compact camera—primarily built for vlogging. The camera offers EIS and OIS, with an option for 'Subject Tracking IS' to keep a subject steady in the frame. Canon may be preparing to enter the pocket gimbal camera segment, based on a newly published patent that outlines a compact, stabilized handheld device aimed at content creators. The patent describes a compact camera with an integrated three-axis gimbal, a fixed lens, and a built-in screen housed within a handheld grip. Instead of simply cutting power, the camera would guide the gimbal into a safe resting position using sensors and image detection before turning off. DJI recently updated its Osmo Pocket lineup, while other brands are also exploring compact, creator-focused camera systems.
