Over at the ongoing Computex 2017, Intel has announced its new Core X-series processor family and an entirely new Intel Core i9 processor aimed at enthusiasts. Included in this line is the Intel Core i9 Extreme Edition which touts a whopping 18 cores. AMD is rumored to be working on another Ryzen chip dubbed as the Ryzen 9 that'll have up to 16 CPU cores. It’s a 16-core CPU with hyperthreading for up to 32 threads. Each core has a base clock speed of 3.5GHz with a boost of up to 3.9GHz. There will also be a 125-watt 10-core and 12-core, and 140-watt with 14 CPU cores variants. it is powered by Intel Core Ultra 9 386H processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU with 150W Max TGP, 64GB of LPDDR5X memory, and 2TB of SSD storage.
