Corning has unveiled the newest glass protection for affordable smartphones: the Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. According to Corning, the Corning Gorilla Glass 7i is made to cater to budget-friendly smartphones. It is said that the Corning Gorilla Glass 7i has handled up to one meter drops on surfaces similar to asphalt. The company also stated that the Gorilla Glass 7i is twice more scratch resistant than other lithium aluminosilicate cover glasses. There is no official announcement on what device will have the Corning Gorilla Glass 7i equipped. Corning Incorporated has announced a new category for its scratch-resistant and durable glass composite products—Corning Gorilla Glass with DX and DX+. According to Corning, its Gorilla Glass with DX and DX+ provide advanced optical performance, superior scratch resistance, and durability compared to regular smartphone lens covers. They also mentioned that Samsung will be the first customer to adopt the Gorilla Glass DX product for camera lens covers.
