Cosmos is a web browser for smartphones and tablets that lets its users browse online without having the need for data connection. Update: The app is currently unavailable from the Play Store. The premise of Cosmos is simple – it sends an SMS message to the company’s system that locates the source website and converts it into an HTML package. It will then send a zip file back to your phone in which case Cosmos will unzip it and display it on the browser for you to view. As you’re browsing the web for free, do expect some limitations: With Cosmos, photos (and most likely videos) wouldn’t be included in the zipped package. Google's Pause Point is designed to help users think twice before opening apps that can be considered distracting. Instead of completely blocking access to apps, Pause Point adds a 10-second delay before the selected app opens. During this brief pause, users are encouraged to think about why they are opening the app and whether they really want to continue.
