The fourth largest smartphone maker, OPPO, has ‘abruptly’ shut down its Zeku chip design unit—the company’s subsidiary responsible on the development of its custom chips including MariSilicon. An estimate of 3,000 employees working for the Zeku unit were shocked with only less than a day's notice. The closure will not affect the performance of such devices, and upcoming phones were still most likely going to use the in-house designed MariSilicon chips. However, this move means that OPPO will soon have to source most if not all of its chip designs from third-party companies. Felta Multi-Media Incorporated, a distributor of multimedia educational products in the Philippines, in partnership with Intel Education and Microsoft Philippines, launched a ruggedized, water-resistant laptop that is powered by Intel Atom quad-core CPU and runs on Windows 8.1 - the Unite Value 2-in-1 laptop hybrid. As mentioned earlier, the Unite Value 2-in-1 is a ruggedized and water-resistant device, and its appearance gives testament to that. The Unite Value 2-in-1 is a laptop hybrid, meaning it is also a tablet when removed from its keyboard dock. realme Philippines has officially launched the realme C100 Series, bringing two new budget smartphones with large batteries, durable designs, and prices starting at PHP 6,313 during the promotional period.
