The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has officially unveiled the Digital National ID. This digital ID functions as the official electronic version of the Philippine national ID, offering valid identification for both governmental and private sector transactions. According to the PSA, more than 87 million Filipinos who have already enrolled in the national ID system can now obtain their Digital National ID. Government bodies such as the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) have commended the new digital ID. The introduction of the Digital National ID represents a significant advancement in the Philippines' efforts to modernize its identification systems, making government services more accessible and efficient for all citizens. has approved the country’s first National Digital Connectivity Plan (NDCP). “The National Digital Connectivity Plan envisions a Digitally Connected Philippines — one where connectivity is meaningful, inclusive, and transformative, anchored on universal access, affordability, higher speeds, and secure digital services for all Filipinos,” said Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Dave Gomez.
