#DOLE displaced workers

Due to the number of employers who refuse to file for DOLE's COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) that entitles displaced workers with cash assistance, DOLE is now allowing workers to go directly to the agency. According to Labor Secretary Bello, workers can contact DOLE to get a one-time PHP 5,000 cash assistance. DOLE advises workers to submit their own forms. According to an article by the Philippine Star, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will be providing financial aid to workers displaced by COVID-19. According to the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP), 6,000 workers have been displaced as businesses have shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To help workers in need, DOLE has set aside a budget of PHP 2 billion for financial assistance. The DOLE program is open for all workers, whether they're no work, no pay workers, contractual, or regularized. While the guidelines have not yet been set, Benavidez said that the DOLE program would provide qualified workers with a monthly subsidy.
