The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is moving toward digital payouts for the next round of cash aid for public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers. DSWD said digital payouts provide a faster and safer method to distribute aid, which requires less work than traditional cash distribution through manual over-the-counter distribution. Interested providers must submit their requirements to DSWD by April 15, 2026. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) highlighted how its move to digital systems and stronger partnerships with NGOs has helped speed up social protection programs across the country. In an interview on Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon, DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao shared that the agency’s digital shift, especially through the DSWD HELPS platform, made transactions faster and more convenient for the public. Dumlao added that the DSWD continues to recognize outstanding NGO and private partners, saying collaboration is key in reaching more poor and vulnerable communities.
