Boasting a maximum battery life of 9.5 hours, the Asus Eee PC 1000HE is getting pretty good reviews (see full review at PTB) and local stores now have them in stock. I'd say the 1000HE is way better than the expensive Asus S101 which is still priced at Php33,000. Since Asus expanded the Eee PC line to dozens of unit models, I didn't see much worth on the new upgrades. However, the $399 Asus Eee PC 1000HE is looking to be a worthy replacement to my MSI Wind U100. The Eee PC 1000HE uses a newer Intel Atom CPU -- the N280 which runs at 1.66GHz (667MHz FSB compared the to 533MHz of the N270) as well as an HD-capable Intel GN40 chipset for smoother video playback. And just when we thought Asus could no longer outdo itself in the Eee PC line, they'll come up with a new model just to show off they're still king of the netbooks. So they're bringing out a thinner but a little expensive Asus Eee PC S101 Ultraslim Netbook. The 20GB Eee Storage is an Internet-based encrypted account (much like Box.net of Dell).
