According to Reuters and Bloomberg, the sale was made known to the public through a filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission on December 14, bringing the total Tesla stocks sold by Musk just in the past year to over USD $40 billion. Reuters says that the electric-vehicle company's stocks have become one the "worst performing" in the industry this year, primarily due to investors worrying that Musk's recent takeover of social network Twitter would divert his attention from Tesla. Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, has now asked that all Tesla employees return back to the office and leave remote work behind. The first email Musk had sent, informed employees of his desire to bring back-office work by stating " Anyone who wishes to do remote work must be in the office for a minimum (and I mean minimum) of 40 hours per week.." or employees must, in Musk's words, "depart Tesla". Elon Musk further pointed to the fact that if it weren't for his decision to live in Tesla's factory and work alongside his employees, Tesla would've been bankrupt a long time ago.
