Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup xAI is set to launch its latest Grok-1.5 chatbot on his social media platform X next week, the billionaire announced on Friday.
The upgraded version, Grok-1.5, aims to surpass current AI standards and is currently in the training phase, according to Musk’s post on X.
Grok-1.5, an enhanced version of the existing Grok chatbot, which will be rolled out to early testers and current Grok users on X in the upcoming days, as stated by xAI in a recent statement.
This announcement comes shortly after Musk declared xAI’s intention to open-source Grok earlier this month. The move followed Musk’s legal action against Microsoft-backed OpenAI, accusing the organization of deviating from its original mission towards a profit-driven model.
With the launch of Grok-1.5, xAI aims to position itself as a competitive force against established players like OpenAI and Google’s Alphabet in the field of artificial intelligence. Musk had founded xAI last year, signaling his ambitions to drive innovation in AI technology.
