Samsung has unveiled its new chip for its upcoming smartphones -- a quad-core processor running at 1.4GHz per core dubbed the Exynos 4 Quad. The Exynos 4 Quad is basically twice the number of cores that currently runs on the Samsung Galaxy Note (which uses the Exynos 4 Dual). The rest of the details are not clear but Samsung has graciously offered this video to present some of the benchmark and muscle the Exynos 4 Quad can do. A security issue which allows malicious applications gain complete access to a device's RAM has been found on Android devices carrying Samsung's Exynos 4210 or 4412 processors. The good news is another XDA member, "Chainfire", has released an APK called ExynosAbuse, that will root an Exynos-based device and patch the vulnerability. Cosmic Technologies has just announced what could be the first quad-SIM phone in the country, the Cherry Mobile Quad Q70. The Cherry Mobile Quad Q70 has a suggested retail price of Php3,499.
