In Facebook's F8 2019 Conference, it was announced that Facebook will be undergoing a redesign, including a Dark Mode for the web version of the social media platform. Among the redesign is a Dark Mode, with the social media website adopting a dark color scheme. The overhauled look of Facebook will be launching immediately on its mobile apps however, the Dark Mode will be launching on the web/desktop version first. Facebook has stated that for mobile, Dark Mode will be first applied in the Watch section, to "help cut down on the glare and put photos and videos in focus." These models to run on-device and on Apple's Private Cloud Compute servers, meaning the processing happens either on your device or on servers that Apple says do not store or share your data. For the most capable Apple Silicon devices, Apple also built a second, more powerful on-device model. Meta has announced the global rollout of new subscription plans for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, adding paid features across its social media and messaging platforms.
