Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has recently announced on his Facebook page that the company will be launching a satellite into orbit to provide internet access in remote regions in the planet. As part of the company's Internet.org effort, Facebook will collaborate with Eutelsat, a French-based satellite provider across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas, to launch the AMOS-6 satellite to provide internet coverage to large parts of Sub-Saharan Africa. The satellite is currently under construction and is slated to launch in 2016 to cover West, East and Southern Africa. Facebook will also work with local partners in the region to make internet services accessible through satellite. Facebook is launching a new game, Your Profile, Your Home where users can build their own virtual home on Facebook and learn how to personalize their account based on their preferences. Through the game users can learn more about the settings of Facebook such as Privacy settings, Advertiser preferences, and security settings. Through Your Profile, Your Home, Facebook hopes that users will have an easy way to find out just how safe and secure their profiles are.
