So it looks like Cisco just wasted $590 million when it bought Pure Digital Technologies, maker of the Flip video, back in 2009. The Flip has only been recently launched in the Philippines (November 2010) so this news is a bit of a surprise. I tried the Flip Ultra earlier this year and the one I used recently is the Flip Mino. The Flip Video is a camcorder created by Pure Digital Technologies, a company bought by Cisco Systems in March 2009 for a reported $590 million.
