#gcash is back up

After yesterday's widespread downtime of GCash, the company has finally restored GCash back to normal operations. GCash has been continuously rolling out safety and security measures to prevent unsecured devices from accessing the app. Go to the GCash Help Center at https://help.gcash.com, and talk to Gigi. GCash will never send emails or messages with links nor reach out to customers via calls and other messaging platforms. GCash did not elaborate as to what additional security measures were put in place but we'll look into this and update this story once we do. The rest that followed was some sort of reality check and yet another lesson in making backups of backups. I immediately checked for the internal backups and found out that not all accounts had the latest copy. This blog specifically did not have a complete backup.
