Globe's mobile payment service, GCash, has assisted the Philippine National Police (PNP) and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to arrest an online scammer on Facebook. Last Thursday, the NBI and PNP have tracked down a fake online seller with GCash. One example of the crime is an iPhone where the buyer has sent PHP 4,500 pesos to the online scammer, but would not receive the device. Numerous posts circulating today on social media regarding alleged emptying of GCash accounts due to the "update" that will be carried out in connection with the deadline of SIM Registration in the Philippines on April 26th are not true. This is according to GCash who also strongly stated that there is no need to panic and withdraw money from GCash because their accounts are safe.
