Globe has announced that it will provide its customers purchasing the new Android One devices - Cherry Mobile One and MyPhone Uno, free mobile data for 6 months. Globe Telecom will provide customers who purchase Android One devices free 100MB of mobile data for over-the-air (OTA) software updates per month for 6 months. Subscribers will also receive free 200MB per month for 6 months for downloading apps from Google Play Store. In addition, Globe will also provide 150MB of data per month for 1 year for subscribers who purchase any Cherry Mobile handsets as long as they load at least Php100 per month. Google's Android One initiative launched in the country last month and introduced the first Android One devices in the country - the Cherry Mobile One (Php3,999) and the MyPhone Uno (Php4,599). People have been asking that since Globe Visibility has obviously moved into the flat prepaid and tiered postpaid models, what will happen to subscribers who are on the GV Unlimited plans? After which, Globe will be offering them a new post-paid plan on top of the existing one. Inside sources would not give details of what this new Globe Visibility plans will be but I reckon that it better be something of a close match to that of the unlimited or else they'd get a lot of flak from it.
