#Globe SIM Registration Week

Globe has launched its very own National SIM Registration Week starting today, February 20, 2023, providing assistance desks in around 500 locations nationwide to help its customers register their SIM cards. Globe says that the SIM registration week is its means of reaching out to its patrons, particularly senior citizens, PWDs, pregnant women, basic phone users, and those with no internet access, to register their SIMs before the April 26, 2023 deadline set by the SIM Registration Act. Aside from the National SIM Registration Week, Globe has introduced other measures to get their customers to register their SIMS such as opening assisted SIM registration in over 30 Puregold branches, putting up registration booths in 15 different areas, and enabling one-step registration for its postpaid and platinum users. The SIM Registration Act requires the registration of all SIMs as a major measure against the proliferation of criminal activity, including smishing and other mobile phone and online scams that have spread due to the anonymity of unregistered SIMs. An old friend sent me an email about his problems with Globe' Kababayan SIM card when using it in Singapore. Furthermore, I just came back from my 2-week vacation from the Philippines and used a postpaid Globe mobile to send quite a lot of texts to my Globe Kababayan friends here in Singapore and I am horrified to look at the next bill.
