Globe has just signed a deal with Unity Digital Infrastructure for the sale and leaseback of 447 towers with total proceeds of Php 5.4 billion. Unity Digital Infrastructure is a joint venture telecommunications infrastructure platform by the Aboitiz Group and Partners Group. According to the telco, they will receive the amount in tranches as the towers are turned over to Unity Digital. Globe Telecom is set to roll out a new rewards model that allows subscribers to earn digital credits based on how they engage with its mobile ecosystem. Under the program, Globe users can earn BNRY Digital Credits described as blockchain-backed loyalty points, by participating in activities such as playing games, watching content, online shopping, and other in-app interactions. Globe said the digital credits will operate under a published treasury policy and will be tracked on-chain using The Binary Network’s blockchain infrastructure.
