For Gmail users, the update will automatically convert any e-mail address, phone number, and contacts into a hyperlink to save users the time of copying the said information into another email or an application. Clicking on an e-mail address link will open a "compose new message" tab in Gmail. Basically, you can stick to your current email address but take advantage of the Gmail features only Gmail users enjoy, like excellent spam protection and the nifty inbox organization.
