Google has updated its Gmail by converting email addresses, phone number, and contacts to hyperlinks.
For Gmail users, the update will automatically convert any e-mail address, phone number, and contacts into a hyperlink to save users the time of copying the said information into another email or an application.
By having this information as hyperlinks, the following actions will be executed:
- Clicking on an address link will automatically open Google Maps.
- Clicking on an e-mail address link will open a “compose new message” tab in Gmail.
- On mobile, pressing the phone number link will prompt a call request using the default application.
This update will be available 1-3 days after its initial roll-out all over the world.
