A couple of months after the release of the Android P Developer Preview, Google has announced that the Android P Beta program is now available for supported devices. Android P Beta comes with new features, improvements, and UI changes like Home Button gestures, new multitasking screen, new notification tray, new Quick Settings, and a gesture system similar to the iPhone X. Google has started rolling out a redesigned Google Wallet app for Android alongside new Google Pay verification features announced during Google I/O 2026. Google says Android Halo is designed to make AI interactions more seamless by keeping users informed without interrupting what they are doing. Google has announced a range of creator-focused features in Android 17. Google is also working with Meta Platforms to improve the Instagram experience on Android. Google is bringing new Android-exclusive tools to Instagram’s Edits app. End-to-end encrypted Apple and Google RCS messaging is rolling out in beta after an effort by Apple and Google to improve secure texting.
