Google Meet extends its unlimited Meet calls to free plans. The platform announced that it will extend its services for unlimited Meet calls to those with Gmail accounts for free until March 31, 2021. Previously, Google announced that the free version of Meet will be limited to 60 minutes starting September 30, 2020. With the extension of the unlimited Meet calls, users may communicate with their friends and family for up to 24 hours per call and enjoy new features on the video conferencing platform. Google Meet is starting to roll out on Android Auto, bringing video call access to car displays, although with some notable limitations. The feature allows users to check scheduled meetings and join calls directly from their car’s screen, offering a more seamless way to stay connected while on the move. While active calls may still appear, users won’t see upcoming meetings or call history tied to work profiles, which could limit its usefulness for business users.
