Mobile wallet GCash has announced that they have partnered with Grab Philippines to soon provide Grab customers access to GCash as a direct payment method on the Grab app. The GCash cashless payment method will be available for GrabCar, GrabFood, GrabMart, GrabExpress, and other Grab services and is slated to be available on the Grab app this February. For regular Grab users who prefer cashless payments, this enables them to avoid transfer fees going as high as Php 50. In addition, Grab customers will soon be able to avail of GCash exclusive deals and special treats for using GCash in their Grab transactions. GCash has reduced its InstaPay bank transfer fee from PHP 15 to PHP 10, effective July 4, making digital fund transfers more affordable for its users. GCash's policies for transfers between GCash users remain unchanged. Prior to GCash's announcement, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) also confirmed that it would waive InstaPay transfer fees beginning July 4. The latest adjustment adds GCash to the growing list of financial service providers lowering digital transfer costs following the BSP's updated policy.
