The 3-axis mechanical gimbal is still here, and it’s better than ever. I get a bit worried it might not be enough to protect the camera and gimbal when stowed inside my backpack. The Standard Combo is priced at Php 28,990 and includes the Osmo Pocket 4, USB-C to USB-C PD cable, wrist strap, carrying pouch, handle and gimbal clamp. It also appears to have a dedicated zoom button and a built-in LED light labeled "OSMO" on the gimbal. Canon may be preparing to enter the pocket gimbal camera segment, based on a newly published patent that outlines a compact, stabilized handheld device aimed at content creators. The patent describes a compact camera with an integrated three-axis gimbal, a fixed lens, and a built-in screen housed within a handheld grip. A folding mechanism allows the gimbal to retract safely when not in use, helping protect internal components. Instead of simply cutting power, the camera would guide the gimbal into a safe resting position using sensors and image detection before turning off.
