We’ve relied heavily on Synology NAS units in both our home setups and office video production workflows, so we know the ins and outs of how these devices function in real-world scenarios. DS stands for DiskStation, which are Synology’s desktop-style NAS units; the ones most people buy for home or office use. Fan noise is practically unnoticeable, which is a big plus if you’re keeping this in a small office or home environment. DSM also gives you the option to immediately install core applications like Synology Drive Server, Synology Office, and Synology Photos. They also have Synology Chat for internal messaging (up to 150 users) and MailPlus for running your own mail server with up to 90 accounts. A NAS is a network-attached storage which allows you to backup and access your files through your home network. People can not only use your home internet to access your NAS, but you can also enable remote access by the QuickConnect feature. We like how realme UI 7.0 looks, but we can’t help but notice it looks very similar to iOS 26, especially the home screen and the control center when we swipe down.
