(HCPI) has announced a Safety Improvement Campaign or a recall of select cars sold in the Philippines "due to a suspected defect in the airbag inflator of the driver side airbag." The cars being recalled are the Accord (2003-2006), Civic (2004 & 2005), and Pilot (2006-2007), totalling to a number of 1,514 affected units. According to Honda, there are no reported accidents or injuries related to this concern in the Philippines, and that the recall is a proactive effort of HCPI to ensure customer safety. With the recent lifting of the Provisional Safeguard Bond for imported motor vehicles, Honda Cars Philippines wishes to inform their affected customers that the Safeguard Deposit amount collected will be returned.
