When HTC Philippines finally launched the HTC One S (see our review here) with a suggested retail price of Php26,990, they told us differently. Both sources gave me one answer -- the local HTC One S will have a SnapDragon S4 1.5GHz. However, we've been getting reports from customers that the units they see in retail stores were running a SnapDragon S3 1.7GHz processor. It turns out the ones being distributed in stores is the HTC One S running a Snapdragon S3 1.7GHz. OnePlus officially unveiled the OnePlus Pad 4 in India, carrying Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Without the iPhone, we would not have seen the likes of Samsung Instinct, Omnia i900, HTC Touch Diamond, LG Dare and Sony-Ericsson Xperia this early. I had 4 most likely candidates as a great iPhone alternative -- the HTC Touch Diamond, Nokia N96, Samsung i900 Omnia and the Sony-Ericsson Xperia.
