Huawei seems to be planning to remove the support of Android applications from their devices in the next HarmonyOS. Fast forward to today, it appears that the next HarmonyOS update will not support apps made for Android with the HarmonyOS Next. Announced back in August in the Huawei Developers Conference 2023, Huawei has announced the HarmonyOS Next which is planning to be released on Q1 of 2024. The HarmonyOS Next will only support their HAP installation package instead of the Android Package or APK made by Android. This means that users may not see their usual applications on the Huawei AppGallery as companies will be developing apps to support HarmonyOS Next.
