As the lighter version of Instagram, the app will be available for Android phones and requires only 2MB - almost 15 times smaller than the full-size Instagram app, which is close to 30MB. Instagram Lite will be accessible in more than 170 countries, and it is also expected to roll out globally soon. Instagram did a bit of a ninja move today as they launched a lite version of their app, aptly named Instagram Lite. The app has the basic functions of Instagram namely it allows users to filter and post photos to the feed or stories, and even browse the Explore page. It also now joins a set of apps following the "lite" trends such as Facebook Lite.
