Intel officially outs its 8th generation Coffee Lake Core processors today, and claims that the new chips will offer 40 percent speed boost compared to the 7th generation Core Kaby Lake chips. The 8th generation chips' architecture, both their CPU and their integrated GPU, is also similar to that of the 7th generation Kaby Lake, thus Intel calls the architecture of these chips "Kaby Lake refresh". [table id=328 /] Intel has mentioned that the first laptops with the new 8th generation chips will be available from OEM partners starting in September. Intel has introduced its latest Core Ultra 200HX Plus mobile processors, targeting gamers, creators, and power users who need top-tier laptop performance. The new lineup includes the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus and Intel Core Ultra 7 270HX Plus, both designed to push performance further within the existing Core Ultra 200HX platform. Compared to older chips like the Intel Core i9-12900HX, gains can reach up to 62% in gaming performance. Systems powered by the Intel Core Ultra 200HX Plus series are already rolling out from major OEMs including Acer, ASUS, Dell (Alienware), HP, Lenovo, MSI, and Razer starting March 17, 2026. Intel has announced its new Core Ultra 200S Plus series desktop processors, which include the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus.
