So one of the most anticipated stuff I had to check out when I arrived here in Japan is their broadband internet speeds. After having problems with the (absence of a) LAN port in my Macbook Air, I fired up the browser and checked my internet speed. While our national broadband average is still nowhere near that of Singapore or Hong Kong, broadband and mobile internet speeds have significantly improved in the last few years. Why stability matters more than Mbps The pivot from speed to stability is rooted in how Filipinos actually use the internet. Microsoft has quietly introduced a new internet speed test feature in Windows 11, giving users a quicker way to check their connection directly from the taskbar. Beyond measuring internet speed, the page also includes additional tools such as a stopwatch, timer, typing test, and QR code generator, turning it into a lightweight utility hub. Today, conversations around internet access can no longer focus solely on speed, bandwidth, or coverage.
