David Gallagher of the NY Times explains in his blog that a group in the US are offering trade-ins of the old iPhones with the new iPhone 3G. Since Steve Jobs declared that they're dropping the price of iPhone 3G to $199, people might have the idea that their old iPhones are worth much less than that. So, imagine if someone offered for your old iPhone for the price of the new iPhone 3G? I guess there are enough iPhone users gullible enough to bite the bait. At $199, an old iPhone could still fetch twice that amount is several Asian countries where it's not normally available, like China for example. They might even find their way into Greenhills considering the new iPhone 3G goes for as much as Php60,000 a pop nowadays. A Php20,000 iPhone 1.0 could still be a steal to many.
