Beats Audio, makers of premium headphones (premium prices too), might soon be a part of your iPhone, iPod, and iPad. Rumor has it that Apple is considering to buy Beats Electronics, makers of the popular Beats Audio products, for $3.2 billion. Beats was recently valued at more than $1 billion, and even with Apple's large cash pile of around $159 billion, this will pose as the company's biggest acquisition yet if it pushes through. This is not the first time that Beats Audio was incorporated with mobile devices. HTC owns 50.1% majority share of Beats and had their previous flagship smartphones come with special Beats Audio branding, earphones, and software. However, due to high cost and low revenue, HTC stopped offering premium earphones and eventually divested their holdings from Beats last year. Beats Audio also recently launched their own music streaming service that competes with the likes of Apple's iTunes Radio and the more popular Spotify.
