Manila Mayor and Presidential candidate Francisco “Isko” Moreno stated that he has been authorized by the Manila council to go into talks and negotiate with Elon Musk’s SpaceX to bring Starlink’s satellite internet connectivity in an attempt to improve and boost internet connectivity in Manila. Manila Mayor Isko is in talks with representatives of Starlink, a satellite broadband internet system owned by Elon Musk, in order to provide internet via low-earth orbit satellites (LEOSATs). According to a post on PTV's Facebook Page, Mayor Isko Moreno will be purchasing about 1,000 dishes for faster and more reliable internet service in public schools, universities, police stations, and hospitals in the city.
