Leica has just unveiled its latest full-frame mirrorless camera, the Leica SL2. The SL2 also has a 5-axis system, continuous shooting speed of up to 20 fps, 4K video recording, cine mode, 225 autofocus metering fields, Leica Object Detection, 187MP multi-shot mode, a mechanical shutter of up to 1/8000s and an electric shutter of up to 1/4000s. Other features of the SL2 are a 1,860mAh rechargeable battery, USB-C port, 3.5mm combo jack, HDMI 2.0b output, two UHS-II SD card slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and compatibility with the Leica FOTOS app. The Leica SL2 retails for USD 5,995 (body only) and will be available for purchase in the US beginning November 21. In a grand celebration held at the Greenbelt Mall in Makati City, Leica Camera Asia Pacific opens the first-ever Leica Store in the Philippines with the help of Lucerne Group who has been named as official distributor and reseller of Leica cameras in the country. It’s for this very reason, however, that Leica Camera Asia Pacific chose to team up with the home-grown company.
