We received leaked documents pointing to a strategic positioning of the LG G2 and G Pro 2 to coincide with the launch and release of the Zenfone 2 in the Philippines. Despite being in the market for almost 2 years already, the LG G2 and G Pro 2 still have pretty good hardware and could certainly slug it out with the mid-range Zenfone 2 (ZE550ML and the high-end ZE551ML). One of the biggest dealers of LG handsets is pushing for a huge promotional sale campaign for the G2 and the G Pro 2 sometime late April or early May to coincide with the release of the Zenfone 2 in the Philippines. Asus is set to launch the Zenfone 2 this May and due to the huge anticipation (Asus exec confirms their distributor is shipping 300,000 units), the sale of midrange handsets (Php10k to Php15k) have largely slowed down according to retailers.
