Two days after we had a face-to-face with the LG Optimus GT540 its big brother, the Optimus Z (LG-SU950/KU9500) was also released in Korea. The Korean model will even have it's own over-the-air TV receiver (which will be absent once it hits global distribution): With the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon at its core, Optimus Z is being launched with Android OS 2.1 with the option to upgrade to version 2.2 before the end of the year. Optimus Z comes with two 1,350mAh batteries, good for hours and hours of talking or entertainment. And at only 11.05 mm thin, Optimus Z and its unique "Z- style" design is more angular than previous LG smartphones and its matte-finish metal gives the Optimus Z a solid, durable feel. And considering we just saw the Optimus GT540 last week, I'm not expecting the Optimus Z to arrive in the country soon (perhaps late in the 4th quarter?). smartphones -- the LG Optimus One and the LG Optimus Chic. The Optimus One and Optimus Chic might not be available locally until December or later and though LG has not indicated the suggested retail price for these smarphones, it could be in the same price range as the first LG Optimus GT540 (which is under ~Php13k).
