Samsung has announced that its Samsung Messages app will be discontinued in July 2026. Samsung has announced the end of service to their Samsung Messages app. Samsung suggests Google Messages for their features such as RCS support, improved spam protection and AI-powered tools. However, newer devices, such as models starting from the Samsung Galaxy S26, will no longer support downloading Samsung Messages. Users can switch to Google Messages through in-app prompts or by manually setting it as the default messaging app via the Play Store. Messages now uses Apple Intelligence to read your conversation and offer one-tap suggestions. The AI also supports cross-app automation for ride-hailing, shopping, food delivery, and smart home control, mostly via GUI-based navigation. Telegram has launched a dedicated app for Wear OS smartwatches, bringing full chat access, voice messages, and chat management tools directly to users' wrists.
