OPPO, Mineski Philippines, Globe Telecom, and Riot Games Southeast Asia, have announced a partnership to kickoff the roster of eSports tournaments and activities. Mineski Philippines, on the other hand, will operate the official national tournaments through the Philippine Pro Gaming League (PPGL). Mineski holds the official licenses to hold esports tournaments for VALORANT and League of Legends: Wild Rift. The first pre-season tournament in the Philippines for Riot Games’ mobile MOBA will pit eight professional esports teams against each other, including Globe Telecom’s esports team Liyab. Globe, in partnership with the popular Philippine eSports company Mineski, launches their professional eSports team, Liyab. Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu stated that they aim to accelerate the development of esports in the Philippines through the Globe Games and Esports program, leading to the creation of the professional esports team. "Liyab, which translates to ‘Blaze,’ represents the team’s intense passion and focus in the realm of esports," Cu added. Launched in April 2018, the Globe Games and eSports Program organizes and hosts international esports tournaments such as Globe Philippine Pro Gaming League, Globe Conquerors Manila, and Valor Cup.
