(ICTV) introduced a new and radical way for motorists to get information about the current traffic situation around the metro through a website called MMDA Traffic Mirror. Francis Tolentino, current chairman of MMDA, was keen to point out that the app can also be used not only in monitoring traffic situation, but also flooding. For now, the app will be a separate entity, but the agency is planning to incorporate Traffic Mirror to their other services so as to have a unified source for traffic situations and floodings. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has teamed up with SM Supermalls to help commuters stay informed about traffic conditions across Metro Manila. The new project brings live CCTV traffic feeds from MMDA cameras to selected SM malls, starting with SM Megamall. During the launch on Wednesday, MMDA Chair Romando “Don” Artes said the screens show real-time traffic along nearby roads, including key parts of EDSA. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has added GCash as a new way for drivers to pay traffic fines, MMDA Chairman Atty. Artes said the changes are part of the MMDA’s effort to improve transparency and provide easier access to traffic information for drivers across Metro Manila.
