POCO has officially launched the POCO M8s 5G, bringing a battery-focused midrange smartphone to the Philippines with early-bird pricing and online-exclusive availability. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has launched the PANaHON mobile app, a smartphone-friendly platform designed to provide real-time weather information and improve public preparedness for weather-related hazards. Introduced in the middle of Typhoon and Flood Awareness Week 2026, this app was, like pretty much, fully developed by PAGASA and it works as the mobile counterpart of its PANaHON web platform that was launched last year. We've got over a hundred submissions from our recent poll on mobile 3G services. Quite a number of users have already been using their new uMobile SIMs too (7.19%) while fledgling Sun Cellular 3G is still down there. Surprisingly, very few people are using PLDT WeRoam -- a service which has practically been supplanted by SmartBro Mobile 3G. uMobile on the other hand, though an autonomous telco is still considered a Smart/PLDT property and their free ad-supported 3G services will certainly bump up their total numbers. It brings several new features and refinements ahead of the public beta launch in July and the official release later this year.
