Mphasis Corporation, an IT firm based in the U.S.A has recently indicated that it has an interest in establishing its first BPO operation in the Philippines. The news comes from an announcement by Secretary Ramon Lopez of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) who had met with Nitin Rakesh, Mphasis Corporations' CEO, and Indranil Roy, Industry Solutions Group SVP & Global head. Mphasis had looked to the Philippines as a location to place their BPO. As a subsidiary of the Blackstone Group in New York, Mphasis provides IT services for different industries such as finance, banking, healthcare, telecommunication, and logistics. Currently, Mphasis employs over 40,000 IT-related jobs across India, Mexico, Costa Rice, Germany, Taiwan, and the UK. Rodolfo, the Board of Investments (BOI) Mangin Head Trade Undersecretary has stated that the BoI and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) have an understanding and are open to working with Mphasis in various educational institutions in developing talent through tailor fitting curriculums.
