The company has now expanded to support their Windows PCs to share with nearby Android devices. According to Google, they have seen over 50 million file transfers used with Nearby Share. They have also stated that they are working with HP to preinstall Nearby Share on select Windows PCs like the HP Dragonfly Pro. Google appears to be renaming its Android file-sharing service "Nearby Share" to "Quick Share," according to reports from prominent users on X. Renaming Nearby Share to Quick Share without merging the services would leave Samsung devices with two "Quick Share" options—an unnecessary source of confusion for users already unfamiliar with the differences.
