ASUS Philippines has announced that both the Nexus 7 (2013), as well as its predecessor, the first gen Google Nexus 7, are among the first batch of devices that will receive the Android 5.0 update. According to the company’s press release, the Android 5.0 update is expected to bring software-based improvements on both of these tablets which include OS’ “Material Design” scheme, as well as giving these slates an added layer of protection against malware and theft.
